For IT administrators
The WebTMS Outlook Add-In can be deployed centrally via the Microsoft 365 Admin Centre, or installed individually by each user. Central deployment is recommended for most organisations.
An IT administrator deploys the add-in once from the Microsoft 365 Admin Centre. It appears automatically in Outlook for all assigned users with no action required on their part. This is the recommended approach for most organisations.
Sign in at admin.microsoft.com with your Global Admin or Exchange Admin account.
Go to Settings → Integrated apps. Click Upload custom apps.
Select Office Add-in as the app type. Choose to provide a URL and enter the manifest URL below, or download the manifest file and upload it.
Download manifest file
Choose whether to deploy to specific users or groups, or to the entire organisation. Click Next and complete the deployment wizard.
The add-in will appear in Outlook for assigned users within 24 hours, typically much sooner. Users do not need to take any action.
Individual users can install the add-in themselves without IT admin involvement. This is suitable for smaller organisations or where centralised deployment is not available. Note that some organisations restrict users from installing custom add-ins.
Download the manifest file and save it to your computer.
Go to aka.ms/olksideload. This will open Outlook on the web and show the Add-Ins for Outlook window.
Click My add-ins, scroll to Custom add-ins, click Add a custom add-in then Add from file. Select the manifest file you downloaded and click Install.
You may need to fully restart Outlook to see the add-in. On first use you will be prompted for your WebTMS System path and Application ID. Full instructions are in the user manual.
